Duties include individual/marital/family/group psychotherapy, and psychological assessment in an outpatient mental health clinic with provision of services to Native American clientele. Psychological evaluations of children and adults, developmental screening of children 0-3 years, community outreach, case management, case consultation, program consultation, in-service training, education and prevention, and research development. Responsible for implementing and supervising undergraduate/graduate practicum/internship training program for students interested in working with Native American clientele.
09/97 – 12/98: Wayne State College, Wayne, NE. Supervisor: Jean Karlen, Ph.D. Position: Adjunct Faculty. Teaching experience at the undergraduate and graduate level, with an emphasis on general education and psychological assessment. Specific courses taught included General Psychology and DSM IV. 04/95 – 07/96: Omaha Tribe of Nebraska, 7 Clans of the Omaha Nation Social Services, Macy, NE. Supervisor: Clyde Tyndall, Acting CTO. Position: Social Service Commissioner. Overall administration of thirteen (13) tribal social service programs; fiscal management; supervision, training and evaluation of staff persons; developing and implementing new social service programs; grant proposal writing; developing and maintaining interagency communication and networking at the local, state and federal levels; advise local tribal government on status of programs; initiate and maintain Memorandums of Agreement; meet with management, Tribal Council, and other agencies and/or governments to solve mutual problems; delegate plans and operations of each subordinate unit within the department to determine efficiency; assist staff through individual and group conferences in analysis of case problems; improve diagnostic and helping skills of staff; responsible for monitoring the case plan management model; and direct services to tribal community.

Honors and Awards
On November 13th, 2007 Dr. Anderson was recognzized and honored by the Honor Indians Institute. Dr. Anderson is a member of the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska. She has been actively involved in the provision of mental health services and working with the Native American population for over twenty-six years. Dr. Anderson completed her B.A. and M.S. degrees in psychology and counseling respectively, at Creighton University in Omaha, Nebraska. She received a Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from Utah State University in Logan, Utah. In 2007 Dr. Anderson was tenured and promoted to the rank of Associate Professor in the Psychology Department at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Dr. Anderson continues to work closely with the Native American community. She is the recipient of a student Minority Fellowship of the American Psychological Association, a Fellow of the Office of Indian Education, and a Martin Luther King, Jr. Fellow. She is a recipient of the 2000 Siouxland Women of Excellence Award and the 2002-2003 recipient of the University of Nebraska at Omaha Outstanding Organizations Advisor award. Dr. Anderson enjoys spending time with her family, participating in church activities, attending cultural events, traditional ceremonies/pow-wow dancing, arts and crafts, and riding her Harley-Davidson motorcycle!
