Nebraska Population Pyramid

OLLAS Observations

Population pyramids are graphs representing the population distribution by sex and age. The total population is represented across the x-axis, and the age along the y-axis. When the young population surpasses the older ones, the pyramid has a wide base, signifying an important future reserve for growth. However, in the opposite occurrence, the pyramid gets rectangular and the younger generation is barely able to replace the older generation causing a slower population growth or even a decline.

Select a specific age or group of ages on the pyramid to get the total estimates for your selections.
