We are thrilled to announce two events with Dr. Brandon Baird, Associate Professor of Luso-Hispanic Studies and Linguistics at Middlebury College, on topics related to Mayan languages.
Thursday, Nov. 11 at 3:30 P.M.: In a webinar titled "The Maya and their Languages: Past, Present and Future," Dr. Baird will provide an introduction to Mayan languages and speak of their presence in Omaha.

Saturday, Nov. 13 from 9:30 to 11:30 A.M.: The second event, a continuation of the webinar, is an in-person workshop titled "Maya students in Omaha: Supporting their bi/multilingualism." In this workshop, Dr. Baird will provide guidance to language educators on how to support language maintenance and learning in their students.
This is an in-person event in CPACS 101 at the UNO campus.
