The Religious Studies department of the University of Nebraska at Omaha is delighted to announce the annual Rabbi Sidney H. and Jane Brooks Lecture, online for the first time.
Mehnaz Afridi, Ph.D. (Manhattan College) served as the speaker through a moderated Zoom meeting on April 21 from 7–8 P.M. CDT. Her 2017 publication, “Shoah through Muslim Eyes”, was the subject of her remarks, and she also participated in Q&A from the audience through the chat feature of Zoom.
The Rabbi Sidney and Jane Brooks Lecture is an annual endowed lectureship in honor of Rabbi Sidney H and Jane Brooks. The event, organized by the Department of Religious Studies at UNO, aims to bring speakers of national and international prominence to speak about topics related to social justice and/or interfaith connections.
