Excellence in Teaching Award - Category 3
Eligibility: Part-time instructors in the College of Arts and Sciences with at least three semesters of employment as instructors in the College of Arts and Sciences and who have not received this award in the last five years. Nominees must be employed at UNO for at least one session or semester during the academic year of their nomination and during the academic year in which the award is conferred.
Nominators: Department or program chair
- A one-sentence nomination email from the department chair or program director
- A letter of nomination signed or co-signed by the department chair or program director
- The nominee’s vita
- A statement of teaching philosophy from the nominee
- 2 to 4 letters of support from students
Additional materials may be considered but quality will be more important than quantity. In no case should supporting materials exceed 12 pages. Please submit final application and supporting materials as one PDF to email@example.com. Letters of support do not count toward the 12 page limit.
Nomination: One-sentence nominations should be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than November 16, 2020. The Advisory Committee will send out a congratulatory email to all nominees, copied to department chairs (and/or nominators) which will include the url for the award procedures and requirements.
Letters of Support: The Advisory Committee will solicit all letters of support. Nominees will submit a list of names and email addresses for soliciting letters of support to email@example.com no later than November 30, 2020.
Nominees may want to also contact their list of supporters directly to encourage their participation.
Letters of support may be submitted to firstname.lastname@example.org no later than January 29, 2021.
Applications and all supporting materials must be received no later than January 29, 2021.
