Stefanie (Stef) was born and raised in Munich, Germany and is bilingual in German and English. She attended Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in Fort Myers, Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2009. In 2016, she earned a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her research interests include:
-The influence of the media, especially in terms of self-image and social media outlets, magazines and television
-The effects of the media on social norms
-The effects of the media on relationship expectations
-The effects of violence in the media
-Festinger's "Social Comparison Theory"
You can find her thesis “Slim Down, Shape Up! A Content Analysis of Cover Lines in Men’s and Women’s Health and Fitness Magazines” in UNO's ProQuest library. Stefanie has been part of the amazing HCRC team serving as the Communication Specialist since October 2018, and also working alongside the Omaha Area Health Education Center (AHEC).
Stefanie enjoys traveling, learning about geography, different cultures, and outer space, and spending time with her loved ones and two cats, Lucy and Dickens. She feels the most relaxed when attending concerts, fishing, boating, and spending time in the mountains. Her biggest passion is watching soccer and she is FC Bayern Munich's and the Germany National Team's biggest fan.
