Stefanie (Stef) was born in Munich, Germany and is bilingual in German and English. Stefanie attended Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU) in Fort Myers, Florida and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Communication in 2009 with a minor in Interdisciplanary Studies. In 2016, she earned a Master of Arts in Communication from the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her research interests include:
-The influence of the media, especially in terms of self-image and social media outlets, magazines and television
-The effects of the media on social norms
-The effects of the media on relationship expectations
-The effects of violence in the media
-Festinger's "Social Comparison Theory"
You can find her thesis “Slim Down, Shape Up! A Content Analysis of Cover Lines in Men’s and Women’s Health and Fitness Magazines” in UNO's ProQuest library. Stefanie has been part of the HCRC team as a Communication Specialist since October 2018.
Stefanie enjoys traveling, watching soccer (FC Bayern Munich, Die Mannschaft and Atlanta United), learning about geopgraphy and different cultures, going to concerts, fishing, boating, spending time friends and family, and playing with her cats, Dickens and Lucy.
