Dr. Proulx’s research and teaching interests include 20th and 21st century French and francophone literature, cultural studies, and francophone film. She is especially interested in exploring literary themes related to history, memory, and the transmission of stories. She teaches such seminars as “Exiles, Madwomen, and Witches in Contemporary French Literature” and “Francophone Film and Literature: Africa, the Caribbean, and Quebec.” In addition she served as an editor of The Feminist Encyclopedia of French Literature and co-edited Immigrant Narratives in Contemporary France and Textualizing the Immigrant Experience in Contemporary Quebec.
