About Jessica
Jessica first learned about UNO on a field trip in elementary school, but it wasn’t until high school that she felt like she belonged here. During her summer scholars program, she had the opportunity to work at different universities, but the welcoming and friendly people at UNO made her work feel like more than a job. “Everyone is so involved, and the atmosphere is so welcoming. It is a very positive environment,” she says.
As a UNO student, Jessica was a part of the Thompson Learning Community. She enjoyed meeting new people and the free food at all of the events around campus. Being a first-generation student, Jessica credits the support of TLC staff members for providing a positive experience and assistance with academics.
Jessica loved UNO so much as a student that she decided to come back as an employee. She assists students with the application process and serves as a mentor to advise in academic decisions. When asked what she enjoys most about working at UNO she said, “I do travel and recruit, so not just being in the office, but being able to represent UNO in the community.”
