Biography
Dr. Sandra Rodríguez-Arroyo is a Leadership Faculty Fellow. In this role, she works with the Office of Academic Affairs, the Faculty DEAI Advisory Committee, and the Center for Faculty Excellence to advance DEAI-related initiatives and professional development. Dr. Rodríguez-Arroyo is an Associate Professor of ESL/Bilingual Teacher Education and a faculty member with the Office of Latino/Latin American Studies (OLLAS) at the University of Nebraska at Omaha. Her research and teaching interests include: preparing teachers to work with the growing rate of multilingual learners in Nebraska, translanguaging perspectives in bilingual education teacher preparation, asset-based service-learning experiences with diverse learners and families, and Latina faculty testimonios. Dr. Rodríguez-Arroyo’s commitment to community-engaged teaching and research has been rewarded with several awards, including an endowed professorship: Professor Robert Ackerman Faculty Fellow of Community Engagement.
