UNO Calculus Dual Enrollment Policies

 

Courses Available:

AP Calculus BC: Two-semester course equivalent to the first two semesters of college calculus at UNO.
Successful completion of semester one will result in UNO credit for MATH 1950 Calculus I, provided that the topics covered in the first semester correspond to those covered in UNO MATH 1950.
Successful completion of semester two will result in UNO credit for MATH 1960 Calculus II.

AP Calculus AB: Two-semester course, equivalent to the first semester of college calculus at UNO.
Successful completion of the two-semester course will result in UNO credit for MATH 1950 Calculus I.

 

Requirements for Student Participation:

Students who wish to participate must meet one of the following requirements:

 

Teacher Qualifications:

AP Calculus teachers who wish to teach dual enrollment courses must meet the criteria for adjunct faculty in the Mathematics Department at UNO. The primary requirement is that the candidate holds a master’s degree in mathematics ( MA, MS,, or MAT).
Exceptions or provisional status may be granted for candidates that do not meet the above criteria. Minimally, a provisional candidate must provide a college transcript and have completed a course in Analysis, having earned a grade of at least a B. Provisional status must be renewed each school year based upon review by the department as graduate mathematics courses are successfully completed.

 

Teacher Requirements:

Teachers of Dual Enrollment calculus courses must provide to the UNO Mathematics department the following items:
