Abstract:
The geometry of (0,1)-polynomials is concerned with locating the zeros in the complex plane of polynomials with coefficients 0 and 1. A classification scheme for the (0,1)-polynomials based on the global location of the zeros relative to the unit circle is studied from an algebraic and combinatorial perspective. The cyclotomic polynomials are shown to play an important role in the classification. Results on zeros of palindromes (reciprocal polynomials) are presented, as well as counting results on skew-symmetric polynomials. Some analytic observations on the asymptotic distribution of zeros are included.
