Maximum kernel likelihood estimation


ABSTRACT:
A brief introduction to density estimation, with a focus on kernel density estimators, will be given. A class of estimators for the mean, which are based on kernel density estimates, will be introduced and its properties discussed based on an extensive simulation study.
