The second year of the program included a spring, 2011 visit to the Nebraska Legislature and another on campus stay from June 19-24 that featured course work in national government and international affairs. On the 24th the group departed for five days in Washington, DC. Highlights of the trip included a White House and Capitol tour, a visit to the monuments and Arlington National Cemetery, and panel discussions at the Council on Foreign Relations and the Hall of States.
The Nebraska Civic Leadership Program included two years of course work and field visits. The education, training and experience gained by the program participants is sure to help them become future leaders for Nebraska, its communities, and the nation.
