A program was designed to calculate any two whole numbers and give the correct result. But a problem arose...the program would NOT multiply a number by itself correctly (such as 25 X 25).
The designer found a way around this glitch. Keeping in mind this method only has to work when multiplying any number by itself and the program needs to accept ANY whole integer, what was the mathematical equation (or technique) used to multiply the numbers in a DIFFERENT way but still get the same result.
