We are actively seeking out participants from Omaha area high schools, but we welcome participation from any high school or home school student in the US.
How much does it cost to participate?
Participation is free.
When will new problems and scores be posted?
A new problem, along with an updated score sheet will be posted before noon on Monday. Only ten problems will be posted each semester, so there will be weeks with no new problem. This does not affect the due date of the previous week's problem. Any variants will be noted in the news section of this page.
When are solutions due?
Solutions are due by 11:59PM on the Friday of the week the problem is posted.
Where do I send my solution?
Solutions may be emailed to the email address posted with the problem, or can be delivered in person to room 203 of Durham Science Center on the campus of the University of Nebraska at Omaha.
What needs to be included in a solution?
Solutions should include the student's name, the school's name, the name of the student's math teacher or math club moderator, and the student's grade level. Solutions should contain the answer to the problem with a brief justification. Appropriate justification includes any work, explanation, or proof that is needed to support the solution.
Note: The problem WILL NOT BE GRADED if no work is shown!
Why should I participate?
You should participate for the joy and excitement which comes with the pursuit of any mathematical quest as well as the glory and satisfaction that inevitably follows. And if that isn't enough, we will have some prizes.
