OBJECTIVES

  • To encourage the preservation of the history of the World War II's African American pilots, the Tuskegee Airmen, through the collection of information.

  • To educate the public on the historical importance of the Tuskegee Airmen through presentations and dissemination of materials.

  • Web site development and maintenance
  • Database and system management
  • Basic computer support functions


  • QUALIFICATIONS

    The intern candidate should be a well-rounded person who has a strong interest in history, aviation, web development, and who maintains a high grade point average. The candidate should:

  • Be pursuing a major in aviation, history, black studies, computer science, information technology, communications, or related field.
  • Be able to use standard computer programs to create reports and presentations.
  • Be able to design and create web pages.
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Have solid presentation skills.
  • Be able to work on multiple concurrent tasks.
  • Be able to accomplish objectives given strategic directive.
  • Be organized and responsible.
  • Have a friendly and outgoing personality.


  • The internship is unpaid, however, a successful applicant may be awarded a NASA Nebraska Space Grant Scholarship.
