HED 8250 Course Objectives
The student through participation in this course will:
1. Explore and understand the health aspects of the biological, sociological, cultural, educational, and psychological components of human sexuality.
2. Understand and have an awareness of historical development of contemporary values, attitudes, and moral standards concerning human sexuality.
3. Explore and analyze the institution of marriage as well as other lifestyles.
4. Understand his/her own sexual needs and behaviors.
5. Understand the sexual behavior of others in our own and in other cultures.
6. Eradicate myths and misconceptions concerning human sexuality.
7. Develop knowledge concerning current trends and conflicts in sex education.
8. Identify and understand the role of sex educators.
9. Critically analyze research about human sexuality.
10. Critically analyze educational multimedia productions about sexuality.
11. Create original educational materials pertaining to human sexuality.
12. Create evaluation materials pertaining to human sexuality.
