NEBRASKA'S URBAN
ART SCHOOL

Omaha, Nebraska's largest and most diverse city, offers a lively arts scene that includes theater, dance, a variety of music, and the visual arts. Besides commercial and not-for-profit galleries, Omaha is home of the Joslyn Art Museum, which owns a nationally renowned collection and regularly features traveling exhibitions, and El Museo Latino, a center for Latino studies in the Midwest that exhibits artworks by local, national and international artists. The Bemis Center for Contemporary Art provides a unique residency program for artists from around the world who come to Omaha to create and to interact with the city’s art community.

The Department of Art and Art History embraces the city’s cultural diversity and contributes to its artistic excellence. A faculty of regionally and nationally recognized artists, educators, and scholars teach an innovative curriculum in state-of-the-art facilities. They are dedicated to providing a supportive atmosphere needed to develop the individual creative accomplishments and academic successes of all students. They are as equally open to helping those students pursuing an arts education for personal growth and enjoyment as they are eager to mentor those students desiring to pursue graduate study and a career in the arts.
