SUMMER CAMP 2008

All sessions for the Mav Kids Summer Day Camp are full. We do operate off of a waiting list. As individuals drop from camp we start calling at the top of the waiting list. No deposit is required to be placed on the waiting list and it does not obligate you to take a spot should one open. We call as openings occur. There is no telling when or if anyone will drop a session, but as soon as an opening comes about, we will start calling. At this time we do not anticipate opening camp to a larger capacity. Our space is limited in our facility and that is the primary issue when establishing our capacity.

To be added to our waiting list you can call our office at 554-2539 and indicate which sessions you would like to be added to. You can also stop in our office, HPER 100, or email Lisa Adams at lisaadams@unomaha.edu and indicate which sessions, your child's name, and the best way to contact you (either email or phone number).

Our program is offered to youth entering 1st grade through 12 years, providing age appropriate activities for various skill levels. So join us this summer for the Ultimate Summer Experience at UNO!

Mav Kids Summer Day Camp consist of seven weekly sessions specializing in a specific theme. Attendees will participate in a variety of sport and game activities in a noncompetitive environment, along with passive activities such as arts and crafts, nature, and theme related activities. All campers will have the opportunity to swim Monday through Thursday in the university's very own 50-meter swimming pool. Each child will also have an opportunity to use our rock climbing wall at least once through the week. Every Friday the camp will leave the UNO Campus for a half or full day field trip. See below for examples of weekly themes.

REGISTRATION INFORMATION

We are a University program and therefore give priority to the University community for registration.

FEES
UNO student and Campus Recreation Activity Card Holder: $110 per week / per child
UNO without Campus Recreation Activity Card: $120 per week / per child
General Public: $130 per week / per child

A $40 deposit is required per session / per child and is NON-REFUNDABLE and NON-TRANSFERABLE.

REGISTRATION SCHEDULE
UNO affiliate registration will begin Monday, March 3rd. UNO affiliation includes all UNO students, faculty, staff and Campus Recreation Activity Card holders.

Returning participant mailings will go out March 6th. Returning participants may begin registration on Monday, March 10th.

Open registration mailings will go out March 12th. General Public - Open Registration will begin Saturday, March 15th at noon.

Our priority is first for the UNO Community and second to our current Mav Kids participants. As space allows, we welcome new participants. Returning participants means the child or direct sibling has attended the Mav Kids Summer Day Camp before. This does not include nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, etc.

Registrations will only be accepted via mail or in person. Due to security precautions, we cannot accept registrations over the phone or by fax. Registration is on a first come, first served basis, so it is recommended that you drop off your registration in person. The mail that arrives on campus has to pass through the University mail routing and does not arrive directly into our office.

WAITING LISTS
Enrollment capacity is 60 children per week. We do operate off of a waiting list for camp. If a person drops a session, we will contact the next in line from the waiting list. We cannot guarantee when or if anyone will drop a session.

ALL DEPOSITS ARE NON-REFUNDABLE
This $40 deposit will be applied to the total cost of the session(s). All remaining balances are due one week prior to the start date. Deposits and complete registration forms may be mailed to: UNO Mav Rec Youth Programs, Campus Recreation, 6001 Dodge Street, HPER 100, Omaha, NE 68182.

REGISTRATION CONFIRMATION
Parents/Guardians will receive a confirmation letter and detailed information regarding the program within (4) weeks of receipt of the deposit fees at the UNO Office of Campus Recreation.
