Basic Kayaking Saturday, June 28th (1 - 3:30 p.m.) (Late fee: After 6/13) Saturday, July 12th (1 - 3:30 p.m.) (Late fee: After 7/3) Want to find out what it's like to paddle a kayak or learn the basic skills you need to go on a paddling trip? This workshop will focus on correction strokes, going straight, and turning when you want to turn. The clinic is taught in the UNO pool; bring a swimsuit and towel to class. No pre-trip meeting. Deep Water Safety Course (Sea Kayaks only)
Sunday, June 22 (1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) (Late Fee: After 6/13)
Sunday, July 13 (1:00 p.m. - 3:30 p.m.) (Late Fee: After 7/3)
Safety is the number one concern when kayaking on open water. This two-hour course will discuss the features of a touring kayak, design, safety equipment, assisted recoveries and self-recoveries for both solo and tandem touring kayaks. This course is required to rent an OVC touring kayak. We will be in the UNO pool, so bring a swimsuit and a towel.

Early Registration Cost: $9 UNO/$12 GP
Late Fee: Add $5

Elkhorn River Trip Saturday, June 21, 2008 (8:30 a.m.. - 4:30 p.m.) Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: Tuesday, June 17 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.) This one day float is on a section of the Elkhorn River that is open to any level of paddler. Canoes and Paddlers are both welcome on this trip. Early Registration Cost: $48 UNO/$54 GP Late Fee: After 6/6, Add $5

Beginning Canoe Workshop
Saturday, May 31 (8:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m.)
Mandatory Pre-trip Meeting: Tuesday, May 27 (6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m.)

This one-day workshop will focus on the basic skills needed for canoeing safely and enjoyably. We will address and correct many misconceptions and myths as we teach efficient methods of paddling, maneuvering, and avoiding and recovering from capsizing.

Early Registration Cost: $35 UNO/$42 GP
