Blue Mounds Rock Climbing Trip
Saturday, September 27 - Sunday, September 28 (Trip leaves Friday night)
Mandatory Pre-Trip Meeting: Tuesday, September 23 (7 – 9:30 p.m.)

The cliff faces Blue Mounds State Park rise from the sweeping prairie like castle walls, and offers a wide variety of top rope climbing opportunities. This trip will focus on climbs ranging from 5.7 - 5.10. This is a great trip for beginning to intermediate climbers wanting to experience climbing on real rock. All participants are required to have a current belay card from the UNO climbing wall. Belay card is included in the price of the trip, contact the OVC at 554-2258 if you need to take a belay class or renew an expired card.

Lead/Sport Climbing Course
Saturday, October 4 (1 - 4 p.m.)

This workshop will teach sport climbing on the climbing wall. Emphasis is placed on belaying, communication, clipping into anchors, rope magangement, and falling. This course can be challenged. Register for the class in the rental center.

Cost: $20 UNO/$30 GP
Challenge Cost: $10 UNO/$15 GP

 

Basic Climbing Class at the UNO Climbing Wall
Tuesday nights: October 28 - November 25 (7 - 9 p.m.)

Learn or practice your rock climbing skills during five evening sessions. We will teach the basic techniques needed for climbing. Stemming, lie back, mantling, overhangs, roofs, and rappelling will be among the covered skills. More experienced climbers can use the workshop to refine their technique. Equipment is included in the price of registration.

Early Registration Cost: $45 UNO/$60 GP
Late Fee: After 10/24, Add $5
