ABSTRACT:
Survival analysis stands out as a special statistical field partly in response to the needs in clinical trials applications. This short colloquium will serve a brief overview on this field. Some main subjects and typical types of censoring mechanism in survival analysis will be discussed. Particular issues, such as, NPMLE, Kaplan-Meier estimator, multivariate survival function, quality-adjusted lifetime, lifetime medical cost, large-sample property and small-sample property, and etc, will also be addressed. This is joint work with Nigel Byott.
