will give a talk on

Queuing Systems with
Fractional Browninan Motion-Based Input Traffic Model

Abstract:
In this talk the notion of Fractional Brownian Motion (FBM) Process will be introduced and some of its properties, such as self-similarity or long-range dependence will be discussed. A two component, FBM-based traffic model for telecommunications will be considered. Lower bounds for the overflow probability of its associated queuinig system will be presented. Related to all that, the notion of Dynamic Buffer Allocation Function will be introduced and used to design the Dynamic Buffer Allocation Algorithm.
