Summability and Square Functions for Walsh
and Fourier Series
ABSTRACT:
Zygmund (about 1950) was interested in some pointwise convergence
and norm boundedness problems involving special Fourier
series. These series involved forms of the Fejer kernel in
certain cases. Sunouchi transferred this study to Walsh
series about 10 years later. Recent work has concentrated on
studying these problems in the context of Vilenkin groups and
extending the norm boundedness of related operators from Lebesgue
spaces to Hardy spaces. In this talk we will concentrate the
history and applications to Walsh series. We will conclude
the talk with connections to multiplier operators and complete the
circle by returning to Fourier series. Refreshments served 30 minutes prior to the
talk in DSC 255 |
