Problem 7

Due in DSC 203 by 3 PM, Friday, October 12, 2001

For $n=0, 1, \ldots$, let

\begin{displaymath}a_n=\frac{1}{4n+1}+\frac{1}{4n+3}-\frac{1}{2n+2}.\end{displaymath}

Does the infinite series

\begin{displaymath}\sum_{n=0}^{\infty}a_n\end{displaymath}

converge? If so, what is the sum?

Solutions, questions and/or comments should be directed to Judy Downey or Griff Elder
