Fall 2011 - Spring 2012

• August 22: First day of class
• September 5: Labor Day, UNO closed.
• September 6th & 7th: Freshmen meetings for Honors Students in the Dodge Room,. MBSC
• September 13th & 14th: Sophomore meetings for Honors Students in the Dodge Room, MBSC
• September 23: Honors Program Contracts due in Honors Office by 4 p.m.
• October 11, 5:00 p.m. First Honors Speaker: Dr. Shelton Hendricks, Department of Psychology, at MAV Village.
• October 19-23: Natiional Collegiate Honors Council Conference, Phoenix, AZ.
• November 1: Honors Program Blood Drive, 9:00 - 2:30 p.m. Call 1-800-GIVELIFE to donate or register online, www.givelife.org
• November 14: Honors Program Bake Sale, 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., First floor hallway in Arts and Sciences Hall. Donate baked goods and come and buy!
• December 7th, 5-7 p.m. Honors Senior Thesis Symposium, Chancellor's Room, MBSC
• December 12-16: Finals Week
• December 17, 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Commencement in the Fieldhouse. Congratulations!
• January 9, 2012: Spring Semester classes begin.
• January 16: Martin Luther King Day. UNO closed.
• Friday, February 10th: Honors Contracts for Spring 2012 are due in the Honors Program Office, KH 208, by 4:00 p.m.
• Friday, February 17th: Honors Program and Phi Beta Sigma Blood Drive in the Ballroom, 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.
• February 22: First Year Recognition Ceremony by Honors Program
• February 25: Distinguished Scholarship Competition for High School Seniors.
• March 5: Honors Program Speaker, Dr. Tim Yoder, 5:30 p.m. in the U'Mo'Ho Room, with pizza!
• March 18-25: Spring Break. No classes; UNO open; Moving week for the Honors Program!
• Monday, March 26: Classes resume! Honors Program Offices open in KH 208!
• Wednesday, March 28: Shadow Day for High School Seniors admitted to the Honors Program, 7:30 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
• Tuesday, April 10th, and Wednesday, April 11th; 5:00 - 7:30 p.m.: Spring 2012 Symposium
• Tuesday - Thursday, Aprl 16-17-18: UNO Library and Honors Program Book Fair in the Library. Buy a book and donate one to Liberty Elementary School!
• Monday, April 23: Senior Theses/Projects due in Honors Office
• Friday, April 27: Last day of class; all Honors Courses and Contracts must be completed.
• April 28 - May 4: Final exams.
• Saturday, May 5: Commencement
