Ten top undergraduate and graduate students joined Director Jeremy Lipschultz and Associate Professor Sherrie Wilson for a four-day professional networking visit to media outlets in Chicago. The group visited Bloomberg News, WGN-TV, the Chicago Tribune, WBEZ-FM, the Chicago Cubs, Digitas, the Chicago Sun-Times, Lipman Hearne and Edelman.
They also met with professionals from WBBM-TV, Marina City Online, Viewpoints.com, Loyola University Chicago, Roosevelt University, and A Step Ahead PR. They dined at famous restaurants, such as Pizzeria UNO, the Billy Goat, and the Cubby Bear.
The Terrific Ten took an architectural boat tour on the Chicago River, viewed the city from atop the 61st floor roof of Marina City, walked Navy Pier and the Magnificent Mile, and attended a Cubs game at Wrigley Field. Alumni sponsored students for the second straight year. Students were encouraged to make follow-up contacts with industry leaders.
