The School of Communication’s UNO chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America has received the Strategic Planning Award for Community Engagement.

Advisor Karen Weber and the student group’s board accepted the award at a Nov. 15 ceremony in the Milo Bail Student Center Ballroom.
The UNO Strategic Planning Awards recognize units, both academic and non-academic, and cross-disciplinary initiatives that exemplify a commitment to furthering the strategic goals of UNO.
Last year, the School of Communication received the award for Academic Excellence.
PRSSA emphasizes community service that teaches members valuable professional skills while also giving back to the community. PRSSA members are proud to be involved with several community projects including the Omaha Food Bank, Habitat for Humanity, and the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
