Top UNO School of Communication and College of Business Administration students met with Omaha investor Warren Buffett on Friday. Following a two hour question and answer session, Mr. Buffett invited them to a steak and root beer float lunch at Piccolo Pete's.
Students from the University of Illinois, University of Wisconsin, Pepperdine, California-San Diego, University of Denver, University of South Dakota and Villanova were among those in attendance with those from UNO.
The day began with Bob Batt's private tour of the Nebraska Furniture Mart and ended with a private tour at Borsheim's. This was the first of several such sessions Mr. Buffett will hold during the 2010-11 academic year with students from around the nation.
UNO has been invited for the past five years to participate. "Mr. Buffett discusses business and life in answering a wide range of student questions," UNO School of Communication Director Jeremy Lipschultz said. "He's giving his time and energy to help influence the next generation, and we are extremely thankful for his sincere interest in helping to teach our students."
