Lambda Pi Eta win chapter award
Faculty advisers
Marlina Davidson and
Kate Rempfer, as well as student president
Anna Berlett, are celebrating national recognition for our new Lambda Pi Eta chapter. UNO received the "Rookie Chapter of the Year" award for Lambda Pi Eta.
In addition to an award plaque, the Rookie Chapter of the Year will receive a $200 cash prize from the National Communication Association (NCA) in recognition of the successful execution and adherence to the principles and mission of the honor society.
Rempfer and Davidson will receive the award at the NCA meeting next month in San Francisco.
In their first year, the chapter initiated about 30 students per semester and hosted a group from Wayne State. Other events included: a clothing drive for The Lydia House, Earth Day activities, partnerships with the Gateway student newspaper and the UNO Ad Club, and encouragement of students to present undergraduate research papers at conferences.
