UNO Forensics had three individual first places at the Nebraska state tournament in Lincoln. Cole Evans (right) captured the overall individual state championship. He won dramatic interpretation and shared the duo state championship with Trae Graham (left). In prose, Lauren Ackerman (center) was state champion. Ackerman was second and Queeny Pimentel was third in oral interpretation.
Pimentel finished second in after dinner speaking, second in informative (just ahead of Evans), third in oral interpretation (just behind Ackerman), and third in the overall sweeps. Nithya Rajagopalan claimed third place in extemporaneous speaking. Other team members finishing among the top six finalists were: Karlee Currin, fourth and Ackerman sixth in dramatic interpretation; Currin and Dan Cutter, fourth and Ackerman and Pimentel sixth in duo; Natalie Schneider fifth in impromoptu; Bridget Hames fourth in oratory; Graham and Catie Zaleski fifth in poetry; and Graham fifth and Evans sixth in prose. Overall, the UNO team finished in second place.
