Before making your first appointment, please read the policies below.
Writers may have up to two hours of writing consultation per week in any combination of one-hour or half-hour increments.
Please arrive on time for appointments. If you are more than five minutes late, you may lose your appointment to another writer.
If you cannot keep a Writing Center appointment, please cancel your reservation. To cancel your appointment, log in to our online scheduler. Click on the appointment you want to cancel. Scroll to the bottom of the window and check the “CANCEL THIS APPOINTMENT” box. You may also email firstname.lastname@example.org or call our office (402.554.2946) during our regular business hours.
If you do not cancel your appointment prior to the start time, you are considered a “no-show” for that appointment. After three no-shows, our scheduling software will not allow you to make any more appointments, and any previously scheduled appointments will be canceled. To reinstate your privileges, you will need to contact the director of the Writing Center, Dr. Travis Adams.
You will need to be present and active during your Writing Center consultation. Consultants will not work on your writing without your participation.
Because we want to honor the privacy of writers, we send reports to instructors only with the writer's permission.
Please turn off your cell phone during your consultation, and be considerate of your writing consultant and others in the Writing Center during your appointment.
Writing Center consultants cannot help with take-home exams unless we have received permission from the client's instructor.
