WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO LEARN: This class will explore the continuing duty to bargain over mandatory subjects of bargaining. It will detail how, when a valid CBA is in place, the union should respond if management makes a unilateral change without first coming to the union leadership to negotiate it.

TOPICS INCLUDE:
Bullet Management rights clauses and the continuing duty to bargain after a CBA has been signed.
Bullet The role of the CIR and NLRB in enforcing a valid labor agreement.
Bullet The examination of Prohibited Practices under the CIR and Unfair Labor Practices under the NLRA as a remedy for management's unilateral changes in mandatory subjects of bargaining.
Bullet How to insure the union does NOT waive its right to grieve when management makes a unilateral change in a mandatory item of bargaining.
