Conference Travel Grants

Purpose

UCAT Conference Travel Grants are designed to support faculty travel to conferences and workshops that focus on the enhancement of teaching and student learning processes. A primary purpose of the travel grants is to increase capacity-building in teaching and learning.

Themes

Faculty may select the conferences and/or workshops they desire to attend. UCAT will fund pedagogical, interdisciplinary and/or disciplinary conferences and/or workshops that address one or more of the following teaching/learning themes:

  • Curriculum Development and Assessment
  • Diversity
  • Instructional Technology and e-Portfolios
  • Interdisciplinary Integration
  • Promoting Critical Thinking
  • Undergraduate and Graduate Mentoring, Advising and Research

Process

UCAT is accepting proposals on a monthly basis from September through April or until funds are expended. The committee will fund grants up to $800 for each award. One submission per conference- only one award per person per academic year. No revisions will be accepted. All applications should be reviewed by their UCAT college representative for correctness before submitting. Budgets must be complete and accurate (If necessary review last year's conference for pricing and topics.). All previous grant reports must be turned in prior to submission of a new request. Also, a travel authorization form should be signed by department chair and included with application. Proposals are due by the 21st of the each month. Applicants should submit one hard and an electronic copy of the application. Electronic copies should be in rtf or MS Word document formats and sent as an email attachment to Alice Woll (awoll@mail.unomaha.edu). Hard copy submissions should be sent to the Center for Faculty Development in Arts and Sciences Hall 202.
