TLC Staff

Mr. Dusten Crichton, Director

Dusten joined the TLC team June of 2013. He has spent most of his professional career as a member of residential life teams. He recieved his B.A. in Elementary Education from the University of Kansas, an M.A. in Student Affairs in Higher Education from Ball State University and is currently working on his Ph.D. in Educational Administration with an emphasis in Higher Education from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dusten enjoys spending time with his two sons and partner playing outside, and running.

 

Sarah Murphy

Ms. Sarah Murphy, Assistant Director

Sarah Murphy joined the TLC staff in August 2010. Her professional background includes positions in student leadership and academic advising. Sarah received her B.A. degree in Psychology and an M.A. in Educational Administration from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Sarah ensures that TLC students have all of the information and support needed to navigate a successful UNO experience. In her down time, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, and going to concerts.

 

Jerry Cederbloom

Dr. Jerry Cederblom, Faculty Coordinator

Jerry Cederblom serves as faculty coordinator for the UNO Thompson Learning Community. He is also Chair of the Goodrich Scholarship Program and Professor of Philosophy. He received his B.A. from Whitman College in 1967 and Ph.D. from Claremont Graduate School in 1972, both in philosophy. He received UNO's Excellence in Teaching award in 1991 and the Chancellor’s Medal in 2000. As Chair of the University Committee for the Advancement of Teaching, he helped initiate a program of teaching circles at UNO. He is co-editor (with William Blizek) of Justice and Punishment and author (with Charles Dougherty) of Ethics and Work and (with David Paulsen) of Critical Reasoning, now in its 6th edition.

 

Susan Wyler

Ms. Susan Wyler, Office Assistant

Susan joined the TLC staff in September of 2009.  She comes with a varied background from being a florist, realtor, a 911 operator (trainee), and a secretary for engineers, attorneys, and a middle school.  Susan and her family relocated to Nebraska from Virginia in 2006, and are very happy here.  She and her husband, Craig, have three children, Lauren, Eric, daughter-in-law, Lindsy, and Collin; and three dogs.  Susan enjoys reading, walking, her girlfriends, and chocolate.

 

Katrina Brooks

Ms. Katrina Brooks, Advisor

Katrina is from Omaha, NE. She attended Northwest High School and graduated in 2003. After graduating high school Katrina attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, where shemajored in Psychology. She graduated in December 2007. She is taking classes to complete her Master's in December 2014. In her spare time, she enjoys sleeping, traveling, eating, spending time with family and friends, and overall having fun!

Ms. Ashlee Young, Advisor

Ashley has her B.A. in Psychology and has a M.A. in Higher Education Administration. In her free time Ashlee likes to hang out with her shelties named Finley and Sophie, decorate, baking spending time with her friends, and Husker football.

Ashlee joined the TLC staff in August 2013.


 

Katrina Brooks

Ms. Bianca Bautista, Advisor

Bianca recieved her Bachelor's Degree in Psychology and Pre-Medicine. In graduate school she graduated with an education degree. Bianca enjoys reading, working out, talking with friends, trying different restaurants, and watching movies.

Ashlee joined the TLC staff in August 2013.


 

Katrina Brooks

Ms. Heather Doering, Advisor

Heather joined the TLC staff in May 2013. She spent the two years prior working at the Goodrich Scholarship Program. Heather received her B.S. in Marketing from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and M.A. in Counseling – Student Affairs Practice in Higher Education from the University of Nebraska Omaha. She enjoys spending time with her family, walking her golden retriever Lexi, reading, watching movies, and traveling.

Heather joined the TLC staff in August 2013.
