Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies

In addition to the general requirements for the B.A. degree, a major in religion consists of a minimum of 30 credit hours of religion, of which at least 18 hours must be at the 300 level or above.

The following courses are required:

RELI 1010 Introduction to World Religions
RELI 2150 Old Testament/Hebrew Bible
RELI 2160 New Testament
RELI 4010 Senior Seminar in Religion [third writing course]

ONE of the following is also required:

RELI 3020 Native American Religions
RELI 3030 Shamanism
RELI 3050 Religions of the East
RELI 3200 Islam
RELI 4020 The Buddhist Tradition

 

Minor in Religious Studies

A minor in Religious Studies requires 18 hours, nine hours of which must be upper division (300 or higher) religion courses. RELI 1010 is strongly recommended for the minor in religion.
