Applying to the Program
To be eligible for application, prospective certificate students must already possess a bachelor’s degree with at least a 2.75 GPA. Applying to the program, then, is a two step, simultaneous process. First, interested students should complete the online application form (or print and mail application) available on the Graduate Studies website. This process includes a nonrefundable application fee of $45 for students new to UNO. Current UNO English or Communication master’s students are exempt from this fee. Second, interested students should mail or email a statement of purpose and a writing sample to the Tech Comm Certificate Director. Current UNO master’s students applying to the certificate program in English or Communication will not be charged an application fee.
