Welcome to The Synergy Project!
All of a sudden you look up from the book you're reading and shout, "Hey, there's a connection here to things in my other classes!" This happens all the time in college, the place where these discoveries are encouraged. In a liberal arts education, students develop skills in many disciplines, and by doing so they see the connections between different areas of knowledge. Interdisciplinary study is at the core of a good college education. UNO's Synergy Project is a university-wide initiative to encourage connections between disciplines by forming "linked classes." Have you ever seen the connections between the rise of early civilizations and the development of religion? What about the inherent connections between literature and philosophy? Mathematics and music? Writing and computer science? The potential combinations are virtually limitless, and these combined classes are encouraged for any field of study.
If you are a student, click on the "Students" button above to discover the many benefits of Synergy classes, then check out the offerings under "Current Classes," which will vary by semester. If you have any questions, click the "Contact" button to get in touch with the program coordinator.
If you are a faculty member, click the "Faculty" button above to see how to form Synergy classes of your own, then click the "Contact" button to get in touch with the program coordinator, who will help you through the process.
These classes offer the learning and teaching experience of a lifetime! Get involved in Synergy!
