When UNO softball pitcher Taren Tuley steps on the mound, she knows she's got plenty of support behind her. "To be able to put on a UNO jersey and stand up for your school — that makes me proud."

Tuley's also proud of the education she's getting as she prepares to be a physical education teacher. As a College of Education student, she participates in student teaching and says her professors "have been great at getting me lots of hands-on experience" in teaching.

The Holton, Kansas, native looked at other schools, but says she's glad she chose UNO. "My teachers and the staff are always there for me. And I know I'll be successful. UNO has really established a good foundation for me to grow on."
