Mastering Speech.
After spending a day with her high school speech pathologist to fulfill a class assignment, Trisha Konechne knew what she wanted to do with her life.
Konechne, a native of Kimball, S.D., population 752, began searching for universities that offered a high quality speech pathology program. She found what she was looking for at UNO.
"They set me up with an adviser right away, which helped me feel at home in a totally new environment," Konechne said.
Her positive undergraduate experience - small class sizes, caring professors and the ability to collaborate with others in UNO's speech, language and hearing clinic - made her choice of graduate schools easy. She's currently pursuing her master of science in speech language pathology at UNO and plans on a career that will allow her to work with adults.
