Sustaining Art.
As project manager of new releases at the Omaha-based Saddle Creek record label, Christina Harding helped independent musicians sustain a living from the creation of their art.
Harding, a recent graduate of the Writer's Workshop at UNO, knows a thing or two about the creative process. Her essay "Notes from a Music Scene" was published in the Nebraska Review, and one of her short stories, "The Plan," was adapted to film.
Also a visual artist, Harding describes Omaha's creative environment as interconnected and cooperative - terms she applies to the UNO campus as well. "UNO gave me the encouragement I needed to pursue my degree. It's large enough that you have to prove yourself, which is a great confidence builder."
