Camp Groups

Camps will be divided in two major groups based on age, first grade through age 8 and ages 9-13. If your child has a summer birthday and will turn 9, please indicate older or younger group preference. If you wish your child to be grouped with a friend, please indicate their name on the enrollment form.

ACTIVITIES: We are a recreational day camp and our basic activities are recreation in nature.  Our campers rotate through various physical activities including swimming, rock climbing and gym games.  We round out our days with arts & crafts and special interest sessions based on our themes and always include a field trip each week.  Parents will be notified in advance of our field trip destinations.

MAV KIDS STAFF: These college students work hard to make your child’s summer safe and enjoyable. Both highly motivated and energetic people, the counselors attend a week-long training orientation to ensure a high quality staff and supervision. All counselors are CPR and First Aid Certified, and certified lifeguards will be on deck for all pool activities.

LUNCHES/SNACKS/PROGRAM LOCATION: All participants will need to bring their own lunch every day. Water and snacks will be provided throughout the day. The majority of the activities will take place in the Health, Physical Education, and Recreation (HPER) building, the Milo Bail Student Center, the surrounding UNO Campus, Memorial Park, and Elmwood Park.
