Research & Creative Activity at UNO

Welcome.

This site is a window into the research and creative activity accomplishments, programs, and expertise at the University of Nebraska at Omaha (UNO). Research and creative activity are an absolutely integral part of UNO’s mission as a comprehensive, metropolitan university, both out of necessity and strong desire. Blurring the boundaries . . . between teaching and research, between basic and applied research, between research and service, between the humanities, the sciences, and the arts, between the institute and the community . . . is purposeful practice at UNO. Our focus is on integration and collaboration.

With a host of new initiatives, UNO is also an institution in transition, one with tremendous growth potential. It is with pride that UNO serves students, the metropolitan area, the State of Nebraska, and the nation in the arenas of research and creative activity. Our research and creative activity have resulted in much of which we can be proud. We are also “a work-in-progress” in many areas and disciplines. There is much more to come!

Thank you for visiting our website. We appreciate and encourage your feedback on its content.

Sincerely,

Dr. Harmon D. Maher Jr.
Interim Associate Vice Chancellor for Research and Creative Activity
