Sponsored Programs

Proposal Submission.

All proposals to an external sponsor must be routed through SPR. SPR will review the proposal, obtain institutional approval and submit the proposal to the agency or sponsor.

All contracts and agreements are between the funding agency or sponsor and the Board of Regents. Therefore, the Board of Regents is the legal applicant, not the department, college or individual.

Responsibilities of Project Director:

-Complete a Proposal Request Form (PRF) form for each proposal.

-Complete a Disclosure of Interest form for each project investigator for proposals over $5,000.

-In addition, if UNO is proposing a sub-agreement with another institution, SPR will assist in preparing an Intent to Form a Sub-Agreement, with a work statement and budget.

-Obtain signatures of all co-project directors, the chair/director(s), and dean(s) of each participating department/college. Obtain signatures, if needed, from Facilities Management & Planning and/or Information Technology Services.

-Your proposal and signed forms should be in the SPR Office at least 3 working days prior to submission deadline. Include sponsor guidelines with your proposal.

Hints
-Visit with the SPR staff early in the process.
-Talk with your chair and dean to let them know about your proposal.
-Discuss your proposal with the sponsor's Program Administrator before you submit your application.
