American Recovery and
Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
On February 16, 2009, President Barack Obama signed the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA), intended as an effort to jumpstart our economy, create or save millions of jobs, and address challenges to the future success of the US in the 21st century.
The federal government has established a website to serve as a portal for all information related to the ARRA spending (link below), where you will find links to the recovery progress websites for the federal agencies that are receiving and dispersing stimulus funds. There is also a site for all program announcements at Grants.gov (link below).
These opportunities are not just ‘business as usual.’ We know that this time of the semester is very busy for UNO faculty, but we encourage you to review the funding opportunities and take advantage of those programs that are a good fit for your research.
The proposal deadlines for this recovery funding will require quick turnaround. The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (SPR) is committed to helping you meet these deadlines and further your research goals. If you plan to submit a proposal, please contact us as early as possible.
