Critical Issues in Philanthropy
Dr. Eikenberry’s main research interests focus on the role of philanthropy, nonprofit organizations, and civil society in democratic governance. In particular, she has conducted extensive research on giving circles, a funding mechanism to emerge from the “New Philanthropy” environment in the U.S. and elsewhere, where individuals pool their resources and decide together where to give these away. Her book on giving circles, voluntary association and philanthroyp will be published by Indiana University Press in spring 2009.
Dr. Eikenberry is managing editor of Administrative Theory & Praxis . She is also a member of the American Society for Public Administration , Public Administration Theory Network , and Association for Research on Nonprofit Organizations and Voluntary Action.
