Professional Research
Dean Bartle's research is focused on public financial policy and management, budgeting, transportation, and state and local government. He has published refereed journal articles in Public Budgeting & Finance, Journal of Public Administration Research and Theory, State and Local Government Review, and Public Administration Review. He is the co-editor of Management Policies in Local Government Finance (2012), the co-author of Sustainable Development for Public Administration (2009), and editor of the book, Evolving Theories of Public Budgeting (2001).
Professional Activities
Dean Bartle is past Chair of the Association for Budgeting and Financial Management, an elected member of the National Council of the American Society for Public Administration (ASPA), on the Executive Council of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) and is Treasurer of ASPA's Section on Transportation Policy and Administration. He is also a part-time professor at the Center for Public Administration at Zhongshan (Sun Yat-Sen) University in Guangzhou, China.
