Public Administration Graduate Organization (PAGO)

PAGO is a group of dedicated SPA alumni excited to support the School as it continues to grow as a program of excellence. In addition, PAGO’s meetings and programs provide a place to network, discuss issues affecting public administrators, and so much more!

PAGO has been working hard to build the core of its leadership group. In recent months, several new members have joined the board, bringing much needed expertise and dedication to our efforts. New members are still needed.

This spring, PAGO leaders have been focusing on several initiatives, including continuing to raise money for the Centennial Scholarship program within the SPA. We’re nearing the $7,500 commitment mark. In March, PAGO board members and doctoral students from the SPA Waldo Society spent several evenings calling alumni to describe the scholarship program and to ask for their financial support. Thank you to all who contributed and to all the alumni and students who volunteered their time to the phone-a-thon..

Each SPA alumni member is automatically a member of PAGO. However, we would love to hear from you and get you involved in PAGO’s social and professional events and initiatives.

If you have any ideas or suggestions about how PAGO can serve you, don’t hesitate to call PAGO president, Andy Bradley at 402-231-1910, or e-mail at andyb@goodwillomaha.org.

PAGO News Update

Andy Bradley, PAGO President
Andy Bradley, PAGO President

On January 20, the Public Administration Graduate Organization (PAGO) board passed revisions to the organization’s five-year strategic plan. Highlights of the new plan include:

  • Greater emphasis on reaching out to distance learners.
  • Recruiting alumni to videotape presentations that can be incorporated by faculty into the classroom.
  • Recruitment of board members from all SPA programs, including those with a PhD, Certified Public Managers, and BA graduates in addition to MPA grads.

The board also reviewed the 2010 PAGO Annual Report, which highlighted the accomplishments for the year. Chief among them were fundraising for the Centennial Campaign, enhanced board recruitment, and initial efforts to collaborate with the Nebraska Chapter of the Association of Public Administration (ASPA.)

Now in my second year as president of PAGO, I am eager to move forward in 2011 with projects that will benefit our alumni, current students and our local communities. I want to thank all who have served on the PAGO board this past year, especially our current officers: Dawn Ballosingh, vice president; and Lori Bechtold, Secretary.

If you are interested in serving on the PAGO board, or helping out in any other capacity, please contact Andy Bradley at (402) 231-1910, andyb@goodwillomaha.org.
