Administrative Graduate Assistant Biography Ivory was born in Superior, NE. She and her family moved to Omaha in 1994. Ivory graduated with her BS in Family Science in December of 2005. After graduation, she worked full time as a crisis counselor on the Boys Town National Hotline. In August of 2006, she started the MSW Foundation Program. She has also worked as an Assistant Preschool Teacher and as a Youth Care Specialist in a residential program for youth with developmental disabilities. She completed her undergraduate practicum at Metro Community College in the Single Parent Homemaker Services Program. She has also volunteered in the Children’s Emergency Shelter at Family Service. Ivory completed her foundation level practicum at UNMC in the Maternal Care Program. Currently, she works part-time as a graduate assistant to the director of the School of Social Work and part-time as a crisis counselor on the Boys Town National Hotline. Job Responsibilities As a graduate assistant, Ivory provides support for the School by assisting with meetings and activities of the Executive Body and other Committees. She also provides support by managing the School’s Student Handbook and website development; and assisting in other areas of administration and research. Activities and Interests Ivory has many interests around social work. A strong interest is working with grandparents raising grandchildren. She is a member of the National Association of Social Workers. Ivory has also participated in the Race for the Cure the past few years. In her free time, Ivory enjoys spending time with family and friends as well as her two cats and two dogs. She also likes going for walks and reading. |
