Biography

Sarah was born and raised in Council Bluffs, Iowa. She graduated from the University of Nebraska at Omaha with a BSSW in May of 2007, and is currently enrolled in the MSW advanced-standing program. As an undergrad, Sarah worked for and completed her practicum at Children’s Respite Care Center, in Omaha, NE. During this experience, she worked with children and families dealing with developmental disabilities and behavioral problems.

Job Responsibilities

As a graduate assistant, Sarah runs the MSW plan of study database, provides administrative assistance for the Program Committee, supports faculty in research projects, and publishes the Inside Track MSW Newsletter.

Activities and Interests

Sarah’s social work interests primarily fall around working with people affected by developmental disabilities, mental illness, and chronic illness. She is currently working on her Master’s Thesis, and is studying the needs of persons diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. As an undergrad, Sarah was the undergraduate representative on the Program Committee and was president of the UNO Student Social Work Organization. When she is not studying, Sarah enjoys spending time with her family, reading, going to the movies, and traveling.
